Why is it that when they give you just a little bit of attention, you feel on top of the world — like you matter, like you’re special. It’s just a few kind words or a text, and suddenly, you’re everything. But then, without warning, it all stops. The compliments fade. The messages get shorter. The energy shifts. And you’re left there, wondering what changed.
What did I do wrong? Why did they stop paying attention? Did I not meet their expectations? Did I make them lose interest?
It’s so easy to get caught in this cycle. You start questioning yourself. Am I not enough? Did I push them away? You feel like you were just a momentary spark, something to keep them entertained for a while, and now they’ve moved on. It’s exhausting.
But why do they do this? Why give a little, just to pull away when you start to feel something real? Why build you up, only to leave you questioning your worth when they disappear?
I keep asking myself these questions, and the only thing I can come up with is this: maybe it’s not about me. Maybe they just get scared. Maybe they pull away because they’re unsure of their own feelings. Or maybe they don’t even realize the impact of their behavior.
Either way, it’s clear that their actions don’t define my value. The real question is: Why do I let it shake me so much?
