Are Your 20s Really the Best Years of Your Life?

(they’re not).

People often claim that your 20s are meant to be the best years of your life, but I’m not seeing that. Despite getting two degrees, I have yet to land my dream career and I’m still living at home, sleeping in my childhood bed.

London, once an amazing city during my teenage years, now drains me with its constant hustle and bustle. The daily routine no longer provides the peace I used to love. Though I have plans to move out soon, my 20s don’t feel as thrilling as they should, I had more fun in my teens.

I wonder when my 20s will become more enjoyable. Is it when I turn 30? I predict that my 30s will be my prime years, with a more stable life, work and home.

It's amusing how, when we were younger, we set expectations for life like, "I'm going to get married and have a child by 20," only to realise later that it was very foolish, given that I was still a child at 20.

Even now, I don't feel ready for such commitments.

I feel like i haven’t completely lived my own life yet.

It's fascinating how our perspectives on life changes as we become older.
